My idea for the Camper shop in San Sebastián was to achieve as much exterior projection as possible, installing large windows and using the premises’ full 4-metre height to convey the impression of an aquarium. Given its location in this seaside city, the shop’s design is clearly inspired by the beach and promenade of La Concha, translated into layers of abstract terraces and the electric blue of the ocean, used as the background colour for the wall and in the pattern of dots on the glass, which attracts the attention of passers-by from a great distance. The oversized red Camper logo contrasts with the three fish floating in that blue environment. And the closer one comes, the more the eye is drawn to the most important part of this small shop - the Camper shoes, which with their shapes, materials and colours look like coral, algae or exotic shellfish swimming in a large aquarium.
