Volvo was looking for new Ideas for Merchandising-Products. I proposed a Construction Kit for a Soapbox. I was inspired by a Photo of Pelle Petterson in a Soapbox that his Father had built in 1943. Pelle Petterson was the Designer of the legendary Volvo Pl 800, also called Snow Whites Coffin, and so I named the Project «Pelle». Of course we have paid great Attention to Safety and ease of Assembly. The Kit was intended for 8 to 16 year Olds and as the Test Drives showed, not only the Children were enthusiastic about it. «Pelle» fitted in all Volvo Car Models. Unfortunately, the Project turned out to be four Times more expensive than planned and never went into Serial Production. I still mourn for «Pelle», because our Son was just the right Age for it back then
