Camper is located on one of the Balearic Islands, in the middle of Europe. One reason why, for me, the company has a totally different status. I love the quality, the sincerity, the wit and the creativity of its products. Also its communication. With this support behind me, my contribution to the project for the new store in Barcelona consisted in finding some elements or simple ideas that, apart from offering a high level image, could resolve the day to day functions of a shoe shop. Some of these elements were put to test in the store I projected in Paris for the Majorcan brand. Others are completely new. Situated in the middle of the space is an island-table, of large dimension and covered with the same ceramic that emerges from the floor. As a counterpoint, the copper on the walls and on the cash register counter give the space a shine of nobleness. The surprise hangs from the ceiling by way of lamps that have dresses, trousers, bloomers and shorts hanging from them. They fly over the shoes as if they were the ghost of a human being. They provide warmth and a subtle touch of humour. The large space leads down to a room, stately in appearance, where the shoes can be tried on with the same comfort that our grandparents knew
