Alfredo Häberli Design Development

At the basis of the project of Pampa was my wish to design a kitchen in wood, whose monolithic structure should not be contaminated by the presence of any handle. The result was the creation of a slit in the wood surface, where the veneer rises and compresses at the same time to give a grip for opening. The slit creates a gentle movement that casts little more than a shadow on the door surface. Pampa combines neatness of lines, which is typical to kitchens without handles, with the novelty of the pattern that marks the doors, just as in the Cina kitchen designed by Vico Magistretti. A strong and expressive sign on a monochrome surface, as in the works of Lucio Fontana, who was born in Argentina like me.
