I am a huge fan of books. I am not only fascinated by their content but also by their touch and feel - their weight and the calm that they exert. I always considered it sad that you can only see the cover and not the pages hidden within. For my exhibition at Zurich's Museum für Gestaltung, I developed the idea of a recliner for books - made out of a sole sheet of aluminium, lasered, edged and anodized - an idea that came to me from observing everyday life. And certainly one inspired by Alexander Calder whose sculptures, made out of one piece and bent continue to fascinate me up until this day.
