Origo's soul, a playful striped pattern, was created in 1999. The pattern was used for ceramic tableware and it finds its essence in the wide range of colours used for the stripes and the special rhythm between the colours. These factors make Origo easy to combine with different colours around the home and on the table. As the years have gone by, it has become one of the most distinctive striped patterns for table settings.

Stripes are a familiar, ordinary pattern. It is not easy to turn a striped pattern into an international classic. Now it is time to bring a fresh new perspective to the pattern so that it remains fresh and cheerful. Origo's striped pattern will be born again in Iittala's expanding textile range. The pattern's familiar, concentrated rhythm is balanced by a pattern of bars placed alongside it, giving the feeling of a magnifying glass held over the original stripes. The range of colours will also expand. For the textiles, the predominant tones are peaceful pink and the green of the forest.

The new pattern is available in a series of textiles that includes a blanket, pillow cases and tea towels. The series also includes paper napkins and large storage tins that are as comfortable in the kitchen as the home office. Origo textiles bring a new look to the home. The pattern's peaceful finish and harmonious colour scheme make it easy to combine with different colours around the home. The textiles are made from high-quality wool and linen - natural materials that are easy to wash.
