We have all seen many sofa-beds. They are usually more than two metres long, look like sofa-beds and do not allow more than one person to sleep on it! In a room, they demand a lot of space.
The idea of designing a chair-bed gave me a chance to go in the opposite direction. The chair has a high back rest and when the seat is opened out, it forms a lounge chair and with further unfolding, a spare bed. Only at this point does it require more space. I am always delighted to find new typologies; this was one of them.
